Operation Epic Fury

From Mediated Wiki

Operation Epic Fury was the name used by the United States government for military operations against Iran that began on February 28, 2026. United States Central Command said the operation began at 1:15 a.m. at the president's direction and described its targets as elements of the Iranian government's security apparatus that it considered imminent threats.[1] The White House presented the campaign as an effort to counter Iran's nuclear program and regional military activity; that account represented the administration's stated rationale rather than an independent assessment of the operation's effects.[2]

Contemporary reporting described the action as a United States–Israeli campaign following failed nuclear diplomacy. Axios called it the start of "major combat operations",[3] while Le Monde emphasized uncertainty about its duration and the possibility that regime change had become an objective.[4]

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro supported continued pressure on Iran. In a March 31 transcript published by Media Matters, he argued that ending the campaign while Iran retained control of the Strait of Hormuz would allow the government to rebuild; the transcript is an attributed media-watch account, not an official transcript from Shapiro's program.[5]
