The Michelle Fields–Corey Lewandowski incident was a March 2016 dispute arising from a Donald Trump campaign event in Jupiter, Florida. Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields said that Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski grabbed her arm as she tried to ask Trump a question. The campaign initially denied that Lewandowski had touched her; video footage and a police investigation subsequently became part of the public dispute.[1]

Fields and Breitbart editor-at-large Ben Shapiro resigned from Breitbart on March 13, criticizing the organization's response to the allegation.[2] Lewandowski was charged with simple battery, but Palm Beach County prosecutors later declined to prosecute. They said there was probable cause for the arrest while concluding that the evidence was insufficient to prove every element of the offense beyond a reasonable doubt.[3]
